Singer and TV Star Buttermilk Biscuits Died of Heart Attack
Larry Myers Jr’s demise was a result of a heart attack that struck him on 13 June 2023. He died in Houston, Texas but his family intends to bury him in his home in Yonkers, New York.
His family confirmed that sad news and its cause. A Gofundme page was created by Larry’s god-sister, Sonya Hines-Hall. She also doubles as the coordinator of the singer’s funeral arrangement. The Gofundme aims at generating $35,000 to help with Larry’s funeral.
Larry who clearly won hearts with his music and personality sadly never had the heart to go beyond 49 years on earth.
Yet, it remains evident that he fought well – or at least according to his cousin, Todd Darell who wrote in a now-hidden Facebook post about how Myers fought a good fight and overcame “some of the biggest challenges he has ever had to face”.
What Caused Larry’s Heart Attack That Resulted in His Death?
It has not been revealed what led to the heart attack of the singer and TLC star. However, according to Mayo Clinic, a “heart attack “occurs when an artery that sends blood and oxygen to the heart is blocked”.
He also suffered from asthma and in his final days, he was attached to a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) – a common device for treating sleep apnea disorders.
In his last days, Larry Jr. suffered several challenges which include emotional, physical, and perhaps, psychological.
He had suffered losses at different times, and even shortly before his own death.
According to reports, he lost his mother and nephew and the result led to his poor eating habits that would, in turn, result in his 940-pound weight. This led to him being bedridden.
In another loss, it has been revealed in The U.S. Sun that he lost a church mother (who was 94) in the early days of June 2023, the same month that he died.
The death led to a long grief so much so that he did not even leave his home to celebrate his 49th birthday.

Other Aspects of Larry Myers Jr’s Life Before His Demise
Larry Myers Jr was born on June 10, 1974. He started singing at the young age of 10 and became known by many for his singing prowess.
He sang at many events and did not hold back to perform for free. More so, Larry was dedicated to his Christian life and spreading the gospel.
His weight took a toll on him along the line but it sure didn’t take his great voice and large heart to accommodate. It is no surprise that he gained fame after a video of him singing at a restaurant went viral.
He weighed 940 lbs along the line and was bedridden. Then, he appeared on season 10, episode 13 (Larry’s Journey) of My 600-Lb Life, which premiered in January 2022, about a year and a few months before his demise.
He had gone through weight loss surgery before he appeared on the reality show. Yet, he later gained 400 pounds.
Thankfully, the TLC show may have contributed to his losing about 300 pounds after it was aired. Sadly, he claimed back 200 pounds while battling depression.
