Kirstie Allsopp, the British television presenter, who is best known as the co-presenter of Channel 4 property shows, is now a married woman.
Allsopp secretly got married to her property tycoon partner, Ben Andersen after 20 years of dating.
Our findings show that Kirstie Allsopp, who is the presenter of the reality property programme, Location Location Location got married to her lover in Mayfair, London during an “elegant and lowkey” ceremony.
Before her marriage to Ben Andersen, Kirstie Allsopp and the property tycoon had been in a relationship for the past 20 years, since 2004.
On Sunday, January 26, The Mail reported that Kirstie and Ben made sure that they kept their wedding a complete secret right up until the last minute. As a matter of fact, most of their guests were unaware it was happening until it did, as Kirstie was determined to keep the ceremony as private as possible.
Kirstie and Ben chose to exchange their vows at the same location where a memorial service had been held for her late father, Charles Henry Allsopp, 6th Baron Hindlip.
The couple, who both own homes in both Devon and London, first crossed paths in 2004 at a party for a prospective Conservative MP. At that time, Ben and his ex-wife, Theresa, had been separated for only five months, prompting Kirstie to address and dismiss rumors that she had “stolen” Ben from his ex.
Speaking with Evening Standard on the matter in 2012, she said: “I did not [steal him]. I met Ben at a party for a prospective Tory MP friend of mine, Orlando Fraser.
“Ben’s wife, whom I knew at school and whom he was already separated from, introduced us.”
Kirstie and Ben now have two sons together. They have a son called Bay, who was born in 2006, and another son called Oscar, who was born in 2008.
On Sunday, January 26, Allsopp announced on Instagram that she and Andersen had tied the knot in a “private” ceremony.
The wedding was held at the Mayfair Chapel, famously featured in Love Actually during the wedding scene with Keira Knightley and Chiwetel Ejiofor‘s characters.
Allsopp also shared that the chapel holds special significance for her family, as it was where her parents and grandparents were married.
The Channel 4 presenter explained that she had kept the wedding private but decided to share her own photos of the special day after being captured by an “unseen paparazzo.”
In the post on Instagram, Allsopp said: “It’s a huge privilege listening to your son give a speech at your wedding, which is one reason Ben & I are looking so cheery in this picture taken by @catherinebradleyphotography.
“I share a great deal on here and so appreciate all the kind & interesting comments, but I felt our wedding should be private, and luckily on the day it was.
“Unfortunately it turned out that there was an unseen pap, so I have released a couple of our own pictures.
“The upside is that at least I get a chance to thank publicly some of the lovely people who worked so hard, at such short notice, to make our wedding pretty special.”
