Kiko was born on the 3rd of February 1959, in Tijuana Mexico. Even though details about his family and early life are still scanty, it has been confirmed that his father was also a musician.
He Made His Debut as a Teenager
The Mexican-born at age 14, he had begun playing boleros and mariachi music in his hometown. He however was later invited to become part of a jazz band, an opportunity that ultimately modified his music career.
At the age of 19, the musician was called upon to perform in Las Vegas with a group called Santa Fe. While in Las Vegas, he performed alongside the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ big band.
The music star again saw music moving him to Califonia in 1982 where he played for a dance group in Daisyland. After playing for Daisyland for two years, he went ahead to join a group called People Movers. The band had professional musicians like Nathan East who was an electric bassist. After playing with the group for two years, he went back to Disneyland in 1987 to pioneer a band called True Stories.
Three years after championing the music group True Stories, Kiko again moved to Mexico City where he began partnering with Luis Miguel. In the same year, (1990), Cristian Castro called on Kiko to produce his first album titled Agua nueva (1992) and that happened to be the first time he was to produce an album for someone.
He also produced another album called Aries in 1993 for Luis Miguel. The album notably won a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. Following the success of Aries Kiko and Miguel continued to partner with each other to the 2000s.
