Julia Wendel is a Polish woman who claims to be the missing British toddler, Madeline McCann. Madeline, her alleged real identity got missing on May 3, 2007, during a family vacation in Praia da Luz, Portugal. While many investigators believe that the three-year-old may be dead, Wendel’s claim to be the missing child is likely to reveal the truth about the whereabouts of McCann.

Julia Wendel Grew Up with Adopted Parents
According to Julia Wendel’s social media update, she is currently 22 years old. Per the same sources, she was kidnapped by a pedophile at a young age. During those years, she was driven away from her alleged biological parents, Gerry and Kate McCann who had been looking for her since Madeline’s disappearance in 2007.
Moving on, Julia revealed that the man whom she refers to as Peter gave her up for adoption to the people who raised her. Though she has not revealed who her adoptive parents are, she started suspecting that there is something about her identity when many things about her childhood did not add up.
She recalls when her school teacher told her that she did not start with the rest of the class. When she asked her mother about it, she did not clarify it. Another time, her grandmother made a comment about her true identity.
All this made her curious about who her real parents were. Notably, when she heard about Madeline, she was able to recognize the face of Peter, the man who had abducted her on the site dedicated to finding Madeline. Also, the man is said to be the father of Martin Ney, one of the suspects in Madeline’s disappearance.
How Madeline McCann Disappeared
As captured earlier, Madeline who was born on May 12, 2003, to Kate and Gerry McCann got missing during the family’s holiday in Portugal. Apparently, she and her younger twin siblings were left asleep while their parents went to dinner with 7 other couples. Even though the McCann’s checked on their children throughout dinner, it was around 10:00 pm that they noticed her absence from bed.
This shocking realization cut the family’s vacation as they were now forced to start looking for their missing child. Though no arrests have been made, some of the suspects include Christian Brueckner, a registered sex offender in Germany, Martin Ney, and Raymond Hewlett.

Since her disappearance, there have been many claims and speculations about her whereabouts. Investigators have searched in Portugal where the sad event happened and moved to other countries like Morocco after reported sightings were made at the time.
Wendel’s claim is the most recent in the disappearance of McCann. The Polish-raised social media star has shown a strong desire to have a DNA test to prove she is the same person as Madeline. She shared some characteristics such as freckles two freckles on her leg and a speck close to her eyes.
Aside from this, she has also uploaded her pictures alongside that of Madeline to show their resemblance. While she claims to be doing this in order to understand her sketchy past, her adopted mother has chosen not to speak about the issue.
While Madeline would have been 21 years now, it is noted that Julia is 22, making their ages different. Also, Julia wishes to meet her real parents.

Even though her claims have generated a lot of negative comments about the social media star, it has also added to her popularity. Her videos on Tiktok have generated millions of views while her followers on Instagram are running into thousands.

The 22-year-old Claims She Has Been Approached for a DNA Testing
Following the recent claim by Julia, there have been speculations that the McCann family has agreed to a DNA test. While this has not been confirmed, if the DNA test is eventually conducted and it reveals Julia’s identity as Madeline, it will bring closure to this highly publicized case. Moreso, the family will finally be reunited with their long-lost daughter.
However, if it turns out negative, Julia’s claim will be one among many other claims in cases of missing persons.
