What We Know About Josh Sills Indictment
The Philadelphia Eagle offensive lineman was indicted on one count of rape and one count of kidnapping in Ohio on February 1, 2023. This was revealed by Ohio Attorney General, Dave Yost and Guernsey County Sheriff, Jeffrey D. Padan in a press statement.
The indictment evolved from an incident that occurred in December 2019, where he was accused of “engaging in sexual activity that was not consensual and holding the victim against her will”.
According to the victim, she and her cousin were dropped off by a man at her cousin’s place. After her cousin stepped out of the vehicle, the man pulled her back into the truck, grabbed her ponytail, and tried to kiss her. She repeatedly told him to stop but he did not. He tried to take her pants off and forced her to have oral sex with him.
It was also revealed that a police officer was sent to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center emergency room on the day of the incident to take a report of sexual assault.
The American footballer is said to appear in the Guernsey County Common Pleas Court on February 16, 2023.

What Does this Indictment Mean For His Career?
Prior to his indictment, Sills and his team, the Philadelphia Eagles were said to play against Kansas City Chief in the Super Bowl LVII on February 12, 2023.
Unfortunately, because of this latest development just a few days before the big event, the 26–year-old offensive lineman may not be part of the 2023 Super Bowl lineup.
His team, The Eagles issued a statement as per Hollywood Life Magazine, stating their stance on the issue. They revealed that they are aware of the legal matter involving their team member and they have been in communication with the league office. They are currently in the process of gathering more information about the issue.
If found guilty, Josh Sills risks the chance of spending 3-10 years in prison for rape and a possible fine of up to $20,000 as stated in the Ohio Revised Code and up to another 10 years to a lifetime in prison and possible fines of up to $15,000, if the victim is released without harm.
If the American footballer is found guilty of the charges leveled against him, he risks spending some time in prison and ending his career in American Football even before it kicks off. Will the footballer still get to play in the Super Bowl in a few days or will this allegation get him sacked from the team?
