Jessica Irwin was one of the first people Jonnie told about the diagnosis of his lung cancer when he got the result.
In 2020, 4 years after they got married, Jonnie was diagnosed with lung cancer which had spread to his brain and caused him blurry visions.
At the time of this diagnosis, the doctors told the media personality that he wouldn’t live past 6 months.
Jessica and her husband kept this information away from the public for 2 years and only revealed it in November 2022. Talking to Hello magazine in an interview that featured her and her husband, the couple revealed all that had happened in the past couple of years.
Jessica’s husband decided to come clean about his health challenges because he felt like he had been keeping a dirty secret for so long. He also wanted to share encouraging messages to those living with terminal health issues.
Although Jonnie Irwin has lived passed his prognosis, he is still in a battle with cancer.
On September 17, 2023, he shared yet another update with his fans and followers using his Instagram handle. According to the TV presenter, he had undergone some more scans and was awaiting the results and it was a frustrating period.
Jessica’s husband shared that the cancer which he had been on palliative care for since the diagnosis, is on the move, again.
In all these, since 2020, Jessica Lauren Holmes has been by her husband’s side. She has offered him all the support a caring wife can give and has been quite helpful with helping Jonnie live healthily and longer.
