Jelena Djokovic’s Parents, Miomir Ristić and Vera Ristić may not enjoy the same fame that their daughter is enjoying as the wife of one of the world’s most famous tennis players, Novak Djokovic. On their part, her mother Vera is a businesswoman and the president of Eko Global, an agricultural production company while her father has found ways of staying away from public attention.
While Jelena is renowned as a philanthropist, and businesswoman who has helped to widen the reach of Novak’s foundation to other parts of Serbia as they build schools and provide humanitarian provisions, it is only right that we know who the parents of this woman are.
Who are Miomir Ristić and Vera Ristić, Jelena Djokovic’s Parents?
From what we gathered, the 38-year-old businesswoman and celebrity wife was born to parents, Miomir Ristic and Vera Ristić who are of Serbian origin.
Miomir Ristić
Not much is known about Jelena’s 66-year-old father. However, in 2015, he made the news when thieves broke into his house and stole his wife’s money and jewelry.
Vera Ristić
Her mother Vera is a 64-year-old businesswoman. Per her linked in profile, she is the president of Eko Global, an agricultural production company based in Serbia.
In 2016, she was involved in a controversy regarding a 32 million euro contract that was given to her company which she allegedly did not tender for. According to the reports, her company partnered with Rasina Energogas to be awarded the contract for the gasification of Kruševac, an administrative city located in central Serbia.
Shortly after, she allegedly changed the main activity of her company to electricity production. This led to a lot of reaction from those who felt the contract should have been given to South Frontier Energy Limited, a company involved in electricity production. Despite the backlash, the matter seems to die as no legal actions were taken.
Despite the allegations against her mother, we may not be wrong to assume that Jelena has supportive parents based on her and her sister, Marija Ristić’s accomplishments which include a sound academic record. Jelena is known to have studied business administration at Bocconi University in Milan. After completing her first degree, the highly motivated woman proceeded to the International University of Monaco for her master’s degree in luxury goods and services.
On the other hand, her sister’s social media updates suggest she is likely a trained photographer who enjoys traveling.
Jelena’s Wedding was the First in their Family
When Jelena got married to Novak Djokovic in 2014, it was the first in the Ristić family. Apparently, Jelena and Novak met as teenagers but were able to maintain a love affair over many years. At the time, Jelena was still trying to settle into college while Novak was traveling the world over trying to build a tennis career. Needless to say, they both overcame these challenges and remained together.
In 2014, they decided to take their relationship to the next level, and how better than to capture their important moment in a three-day ceremony witnessed by their parents, colleagues, and friends? Jelena who was six months pregnant at the time revealed that their wedding was the first time that either parent was witnessing their children walking down the aisle.
Notably, Miomir and Vera witnessed another wedding in 2015 when their second daughter, Marija walked down the aisle with her husband, Budimir Jovkovic.

Jelena’s Parents are Grandparents
Miomir and Vera are proud grandparents of two children, Stefan and Tara who are children of Jelena and Novak. The couple welcomed their oldest child, Stefan on October 22, 2014, thereby making Miomir and Vera grandparents for the first time. Three years later, they became grandparents for the second time when Jelena and her husband welcomed their second child, Tara who was born on September 4, 2017.
So far, the celebrity couple has shared adorable pictures of their children yet, the grandparents are not featured in any. Since they have always maintained a private life, it is likely that they share fond memories with their grandbabies away from the public eye.
