But Warren, on whose account she is in the spotlight, was born in Orlando, Florida, and raised in Plymouth, Florida, by a single mother. He developed an early passion for sports, and in the late 1980s, he was recognized for his exceptional football performance while playing punter, linebacker, tight end, and placekicker at Apopka High School in Apopka, Florida. He was a two-sport athlete in high school and a power forward on the basketball squad.
In 2007, Vaughn’s ex-husband was named to the Florida High School Association All-Century Team comprising the top 33 players in a hundred years of high school football in his home state.
He played college football for the University of Miami Hurricanes from 1992 to 1994. He was also known for his exceptional performance as a defensive lineman and was a key player in Miami’s defense.

Warren was still a college student when he met Jamiko in Miami. Eventually, in a widely reported ceremony in 1998, the couple got married. Sapp was still with the Buccaneers at that point. However, their relationship was not without controversy and legal disputes. In 2001, Vaughn filed a domestic violence complaint against Sapp, alleging that he had choked and stomped on her during an argument, an allegation that Sapp denied.
Also, after allegedly discovering Warren’s repeated infidelity in their marriage, Vaughn filed for a divorce in 2007. The divorce was later granted, ending their nine-year-long marriage. At the time of their divorce, they had 2 children; Mercedes (born in 1998) and Warren Sapp II (born in 2000).
Vaughn reportedly received a hefty financial settlement after their divorce, which included monthly child support payments in addition to a lump sum payment to the tune of about $15.8 million.
