Jamie McShane grew up in Saddle River
Jamie McShane was born on July 22, 1966. He was raised alongside his four siblings in a little town on the northeast of Jersey called Saddle River. Two of his sisters are dancers but only one is now a professional ballerina and a dancer.
He got his BA in English at the University of Richmond in 1988. After he graduated, he reportedly traveled throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

He started his career on stage, appearing in several plays all over New York before he started getting roles in Indie films. At that same time, he wrote a book of poetry and children’s stories.
Jamie went on to have many guest and recurring roles on television series like 24, Stalker, Fear the Walking Dead, and The Fosters. He soon gained international prominence for his role as Cameron Hayes in Sons of Anarchy and Eric O’Bannon in Bloodline, for which he was given the Maltese Falcon award for his role in the series.

1. He almost lost his life after a life-threatening accident
McShane had a head injury while growing up. He sustained the injury after he slipped on sawdust as he was leaving school. He smashed his head which resulted in him undergoing two brain surgeries.
The doctors told his parents there were things he could not do, like play hockey, so he concentrated on tennis instead.

2. Jamie McShane sold microscopes before he started acting
Before he started acting, Jamie worked for his father’s company in New Jersey. According to the actor, he helped sold and service microscopes at the company. He also did delivery and pickup driving daily in New Jersey and New York. His father still runs the business in Ho-Ho-Kus.
In addition to that, he taught tennis and strung rackets before he relocated to Los Angeles and started making a living out of acting.

The New Jersey native has been described as a lifelong athlete on his IMDB page. He participated in several sports including Hockey and tennis. As an athlete, he played in numerous tournaments before he went on to become an instructor.

The Mank actor is not married but revealed he has a girlfriend. During an interview with HuffPost, McShane stated that he has two sons from a previous relationship and his girlfriend also has two sons.
5. His real name is Jamie Simon
The Bloodline actor’s real name is Jamie Nelson Simon however, he had to change it when he went to sign up for Actor’s Union, there was someone already using the name. After years of using three names, he decided to come up with the name ‘McShane’.
