Angeli Jake Angeli is a 36-year-old American activist and a conspiracy theorist who is known to have spread the theory of the QAnon – an anonymous group known to fabricate political and social claims.
Prior to the infamous acts that made him a person of interest before the law in 2021 for his participation in the January 6 attack, Jake was in the US Navy. He also wrote books after serving his country through military service.

1. His Real Name is Jacob Anthony Angeli Chansley
Jake Angeli was born Jacob Anthony Angeli Chansley in 1988 in Arizona. His mother is Martha Chansley and he has a cousin identified as Adam Chansley.
Jacob attended Moon Valley High School in the early 2000s and went on to attend Glendale Community College. While in college, Angeli’s interests tilted toward Psychology, religion, philosophy, and ceramics.
2. He was enlisted into the US Navy in 2005
Back on September 26, 2005, Jake Angeli enlisted in the United States Navy and served there for about 2 years. He attended boot camp, trained as a supply clerk, and in March 2006, was assigned to USS Kitty Hawk, an aircraft carrier.
After his refusal to take the anthrax vaccine, he was scheduled to be dismissed from the navy. By September 29, 2007, Jake was sent to a Transient Personnel Unit in Puget Sound in Washington State. He was eventually processed out of service on October 11 of the same year.
Despite the way he was sent off, Anthony won several military awards and was decorated well. He has a National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon.
3. Jake Participated in a Great Number of Rallies and Marches
He has been in many protests over the years and even participated in demonstrations in Phoenix, Arizona. Jake has been in protests in Arizona since 2019 and was even part of a counter-protest at Black Lives Matter events.
He is almost never unmissable at these protests because of his tattoos, face paintings, sometimes an exposed body, and use of colors, symbols, and flags. He has earned many nicknames such as QAnon Shaman and Yellowstone Wolf.
It is worthy of knowing that he isn’t a violent protester though. He had, until 2021, never even gotten into trouble, not even in Arizona.
In 2020, Jake Angeli admitted that he began to appear in a fur hat and face paints to draw attention to himself. He wanted the attention in order to talk about the QAnon and other conspiracies he had.
4. He is an Ardent Follower of Christ and Gandhi
Jacob is a follower of the teachings of the Biblical Jesus Christ and also Mahatma Gandhi. When he got into trouble with the law, he admitted his faults and expressed that he follows the teachings of the aforementioned.
Angeli said he asked himself what Jesus Christ or Mahatma Gandhi would do in the situation and concluded that Jesus would respect and understand the situation he is in and that Gandhi would accept responsibility. As a result, he respected and understood what he had gotten into and accepted it.
5. He has Written Many Books and Tried to Venture into Movies
In 2017, Jacob ‘Jake’ wrote and published a book under the name of Loan Wolf. The title of the book is Will & Power: Inside the Living Library (Volume 1). Another book was written in 2020 under his real name and titled One Mind at a Time: A Deep State of Illusion.
He has also tried out acting as he has a profile on the website Backstage.
6. Jacob Anthony Chansley Started a GoFundMe Account to fund his Protest Trip to Washington D. C
Before the January 6 protest that Jake participated in, he created a GoFundMe account seeking money to help him go to Washington from Arizona. He started the account in December for the MAGA Million March, according to the fundraising platform.
Jake was able to raise $10 before the account was shut down because it violated the terms of the GoFundMe company.
The Arizona-born however claimed that he joined a group of fellow protesters from Arizona to Washington.
7. Jake Angeli’s Mental Health Claims
Jacob’s lawyer, Watkins, has admitted that his client has some mental health deficiencies. He claims Angeli was abused and neglected and also had severe anxiety, panic attacks, and claustrophobia.
When he enlisted in the US navy, he underwent a mental health examination and it was discovered that he also suffered from Schizotypal personality disorder. This information was kept secret by the military until investigations began in 2021.

8. He was arrested on January 9 and Sentenced to 3 Years and 5 Months in Jail
Jacob Anthony Chansley Angeli was part of the United States Capitol attack in 2021 that saw the death of a couple of protesters who tried to make their way into the Senate floor.
These protesters claimed to be in support of Donald Trump and against the elections that ousted Donald from the seat.
The protest was an attempt to keep Donald in his seat and prevent the joint session of congress from counting the electoral votes.
He carried a placard with an inscription that read ‘Q Sent Me’. Jake also left a letter for Vice President Pence stating that Justice was coming.
According to his beliefs of the QAnon teachings and other theories Jacob follows, he believes that there are a lot of sinister activities going on amongst the government and top people in the society. Some of his theories were that these top men and women engaged in trafficking and cannibalism; drinking the blood of children they trafficked. Jake’s tattoos also carry a lot of meanings relating to his beliefs and followings.
He became a person of interest soon after the protest in 2021 and contacted the FBI, agreeing to turn himself in to the police.
The QAnon Shaman was in custody for over a year before his trial. When he was finally charged, he was sentenced to 3 years and 5 months imprisonment after admitting and accepting his faults in the protest.
9. Jacob Eats only Organic Foods
While in custody, the 36-year-old Capitol protester refused to eat the food given to prisoners. His refusal to eat is based on the fact that he doesn’t eat anything inorganic.
Martha, his mother, has also confirmed the claim and said that her son would fall ill if he doesn’t eat organic food. Given this, there has been a court order to feed him organic food.
10. He has been Featured in Pop Culture
Following his fame, Jacob Chansley also known as the QAnon Shaman has been featured in pop culture. He was represented in the episode titled South Park in the 2021 animation South ParQ Vaccination Special.
His appearance also inspired a character in the 2020s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. MacGruber, Will Forte’s surface in 2022’s Saturday Night Live was also motivated by Jake’s attires. Another character who dressed like Jacob in a series is one of the members of The Boys’ Stormchasers.
