On January 28, 2022, the actress uploaded a video on TikTok ranting about how some streets in Lower Manhattan were closed down due to a procession going on. She complained about the inconvenience it caused the people living in the neighborhood.
Jacqueline called the situation a ridiculous one and stated that it was unnecessary. She was obviously on the street when she made the video as she turned her camera to show what she was complaining about.
The procession was in honor of a 22-year-old NYPD officer named Jason Rivera and his partner who was killed during an operation. According to the actress, the cop was probably doing his job wrongly. She went on to state that a lot of under-22-year-olds are killed every day but nobody shuts down the city for them.
Guzman went on a whole rant about the situation. She complained that if someone had a heart attack, he wouldn’t be able to get help because of the closed streets.
She deleted the video shortly after its upload and got reactions but it had already begun to make waves. Also, a couple of people on social media downloaded and reposted the videos.

The outburst by the Cuban actress was faced with many backlashes and responses. A lot of people saw her rant as insensitive and called her out on it. A woman even stated that she is a mother to a police officer and would understand what it feels like to lose her son to murder. The woman further reiterated that Jacqueline was being insensitive.
Police officers also pointed out how disrespectful the video’s content was as they responded to Jacqueline’s outburst.
The president of the PBA, New York’s largest Police Union, named Patrick Lynch said the comments by the theatrical actress were spreading hate. He totally condemned her actions in his statement.
