Growing up on a reality TV show was Difficult for Jacob
Jacob has described the turbulent aspects of his upbringing in a reality television program. He claimed that a producer of Little People, Big World molested him in a statement that he uploaded on Instagram explaining his unfavorable experience with the program. His family and fans of the show rallied around and applauded his bravery and decision to speak up.
Meanwhile, Jacob, who is regarded as a rebellious member of the Roloff family, departed the family farm and dropped out of high school. Additionally, he openly distanced himself from TLC and the famous Roloff show before moving on with his childhood sweetheart Isabel Rock.
The couple reportedly traveled across America in a camper van. Also, you’ll discover that the free-spirited pair supported themselves by using Jacob’s writing and Isabel’s photography.
He Married Isabel in 2019
As was previously said, Jacob and Isabel first met as little kids. Isabel resided not far from the family farm, and the two later became romantically involved. After years of avoiding the spotlight, Jacob made a social media comeback to share the news of his wedding to Isabel Rock, which took place on the Neakahnie cliffs on September 5, 2019. In 2021, the couple welcomed a son named Mateo.
Jacob’s Early Life Experiences Drove him to Start Writing
From preschool through eighth grade, Amy Roloff‘s son attended a private Christian school. Since then, he has lost the rigidity he felt under its influence and has chosen to write with curiosity about how old Eastern beliefs are influencing him. He has always loved to write, but because of the nomadic lifestyle he leads with Isabel and their two dogs, he has started to treat it more seriously than before—as a passion to be pursued rather than as a lighthearted pastime.
He has two books to his credit and the first is titled Verbing. Jacob claims that his first book is divided into three halves. The first half is ignorance, followed by frustration and revelations. The format is simply three little articles on the topic of his development—spiritually, intellectually, and publicly.
Out to See is the title of his second book and he added that the book is an experimental writing experiment that he is using to learn the publishing process and determine the subject(s) he wants to write about in the future. Meanwhile, Jacob is extremely passionate about questioning capitalism and discussing the unionization of workers, especially in the marijuana and hemp industries and these are also captured in his writings.
He is also a Farmer
Apart from writing, Jacob is also a passionate farmer known for his Helvetia Herb and Garden. According to the information provided on his farm’s I.G. page, he grows potatoes, carrots, organic cannabis, and vegetables in historic Helvetia, Oregon.
He had a Near-death Experience on His Father’s Farm
A horrible accident involving a trebuchet, a medieval catapult, which was being used to advertise the Roloff’s Farm, left Mike Detjen, his father’s business partner, and Jacob Detjen hurt in October 2006. While Jacob and Mike were cocking the trebuchet back and refilling the catapult, the 2000-pound counterweight erred and exploded, crashing into them. While Mike needed more than 200 stitches, Jacob needed surgery to have a dent removed from his skull, which was putting pressure on his brain. However, both Mike and Jacob have fully recovered.
Similarly, in 2008, Jacob broke his left wrist. Apparently, it happened on a slide at school.
