“Pound Town” rapper Sexyy Red (Janae Nierah Wherry) has found herself in another controversy with reports claiming she works for America’s top intelligence agency. From her explicit lyrics to leaking her sex tapes and whatnot, the Missouri rapper is no stranger to controversies since she gained mainstream recognition. While she’s currently caught up in a $5 million lawsuit filed by her child’s grandmother, the internet is abuzz with reports claiming she’s a covert CIA operative.

Reports suggesting the “Get It Sexyy” singer is a CIA agent aren’t true. There is no concert evidence to validate the claims, which emanated from Daily Noud, an X page parodying The Daily Loud. In a post that has gone viral, Daily Noud claimed that leaked government documents have exposed the rapper as a CIA agent.
“Sexyy Red has been a CIA operative since 2018,” reads the X post, “Officials describe her mission as ‘culturally critical’ with no further details.” While Noud shouldn’t be taken seriously, the post fuels narratives about government-sponsored cultural warfare against America’s black community.
“I have been saying this for years,” one commenter wrote, “The government goes into the hoods, pick the most foul-mouthed ghetto ignorant person they can find, put money behind them and circulate their music with the sole purpose of influencing younger people to whoredom and degeneracy.”
Another commenter expressed a similar sentiment, naming Kendrick Lamar and Doechii among the industry plants helping the government orchestrate its dubious agendas against America’s black population. “They’re there to shift the public behavior/narrative and cause divide/conflict within the black community,” reads part of the comment.
While several X users seem quite eager to believe this, others think the rapper doesn’t have what it takes to work for the CIA. “She’s too dumb to even be a store assistant, let alone a CIA operative,” one of the users wrote. This wouldn’t be the first time the rapper has been accused of being a CIA agent. A similar claim was made about her in June 2024, which she rebutted as seen above. Regular reddit users might have also come across posts asserting she’s an industry plant on a mission to ruin Black women’s image.
