Lynn Ban, the famous Singaporean reality star, has tragically passed away.
Ban, who was a star of Bling Empire: New York and also a jewelry designer, died on Monday at the age of 51.
Lynn Ban’s son, Sebastian, has since confirmed her death. Sebastian, in an emotional post he made on Instagram on January 22, revealed that his mother died on Monday, January 20 after suffering a skiing accident and undergoing brain surgery.
Alongside a slideshow of him with his mom, Sebastian wrote: “I know she wanted to share her journey after her accident and brain surgery, so I thought she would appreciate one last post sharing the news to people who supported her. Many of you followed my mum but never got the chance to know her or meet her in person.”
Moving on, Sebastian shared some kind words about his mother, describing her as the “best friend, the best mother to me, and someone who cared for all.”
“She always had a smile on her face even when times were tough during her recovery process. She was a fighter until the end and is the strongest woman I know,” he continue, also calling her “the funniest and coolest mum I could ever ask for.”
In his Instagram post, Sebastian explained that even though the actress is no longer here with him and her other loved ones, he will make sure he does all that he can to ensure that she is never forgotten and that her life is celebrated.
He concluded by saying: “As a final message to my mum, I would just like to say that I will miss you forever and to end in something she always told me ‘I love you more than life itself’ mum.”
On December 30, 2024, Ban posted hospital photos and images of her scars following brain surgery. The jewelry designer revealed that she suffered a skiing accident on Christmas Eve in Aspen. After a CAT scan, the medical team discovered she had a brain hemorrhage and necessitated an airlift to a trauma center for treatment.
At the time, she wrote: “Last thing I remember was being intubated and waking up after an emergency craniotomy with (husband) Jett by my side.”
A brain bleed, or intracranial hemorrhage, is potentially fatal and can result from falls or other traumatic incidents. It leads to “blood pooling between the brain and skull, obstructing oxygen supply to the brain,” as explained by the Cleveland Clinic.
Lynn Ban founded and owned Lynn Ban Jewelry, a label favored by numerous celebrities, with Rihanna among those offering condolences on Sebastian’s post. In 2023, Ban featured on the Netflix reality series “Bling Empire: New York,” which was a spinoff of the original “Bling Empire.”
