Grant Goodeve,72, was born on July 6, 1952, in Middlebury, Connecticut, to Roger and Lucy Goodeve. Thyrza Nicolas Goodeve, his sister, is a writer who has published several books, including How Like a Leaf: A Conversation with Donna Haraway (1999).

He finished high school in Connecticut and went to a grammar school where he did some theater. He then attended Ithaca College in South Hill, New York, before relocating to Colorado to pursue acting studies with several instructors.

In addition to acting, Goodeve had a variety of interests, such as music and sports. He was very interested in songwriting and playing the guitar. Dance in the Light, Come Back to Me, and Faith Never Shallow are just a few of his songs.
