Singer, Gala was crowned FUCAM (Breast Cancer Foundation) ambassador and seized the opportunity to narrate how her mother, Crista, survived the disease. She stated that in her mother’s case, the cancer was detected and treated early as she used to have annual mammograms.
While speaking in her new role as the foundation’s ambassador. Montes stated that regular self-examination was important. She also stated that from the age of 40 and above, women should endeavor to check themselves regularly.

Gala Montez got into a heated argument on social media with Barbara de Regil. The back and forth was over a post by Barbara over the death of her dog named Nala. Barbara shared videos of her mourning her dog on her Instagram stories and the actress lashed out at her.
Montes called de Regil’s social media cry, a means to get more followers and that she was faking it. She also accused the bereaved of abandoning the dog to spend about 30 days abroad.
Barbara confronted Montes through the comment section, defending herself and debunking the accusations meted out against her. In an interview shortly after, Regil pointed out that she wasn’t friends with Gala and that the actress did not know anything about her.
