In 2019, CJ’s ex, Nicole Garvey started posting screenshots of the musician’s messages to her. The messages with unsoothing words. She further claimed that their relationship was on and off and it was also filled with manipulation, mental, and emotional abuse; cheating, and racially abusive words.
Furthermore, she purpoted that she was a minor (17) when they started dating. Yet, they would sleep.
Her story deepened with the tales that she even had to treat herself for STDs over and time again because of his cheating.
She also brought up the story that he did not only sleep with her before she turned 18 but sexually abused her as well as forced her into porn.
After she made all the declarations, Nicole shared another post claiming that it was from a girl from Canada. The message pointed out that the musician came inside her even when she protested against it.

In the beginning, when there were abuse allegations leveled against CJ, he kept mute and deleted his accounts on social media.
In 2020, he released a video claiming that the accusations leveled against him were fabricated. According to him, he and Nicole were actually on and off for years until he decided to end it totally with her.
At the time, she did not report any abuse. Rather, CJ McCreery claimed that she had good things to say about him and that she still wanted to be with him.
In the video, he showed many screenshots of messages claiming that they were from Nicole. In one of the screenshots, it has been recorded that she had texted that she would mostly wire her brain to hate him anytime they broke up.
