Chloe Bailey, the popular American singer-songwriter and record producer, has talked about the rumours surrounding her and Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy.
26-year-old Bailey, and Burna Boy, 33, sparked dating rumours back in December 2024, after they were seen together multiple times in the city of Lagos, Nigeria. As a matter of fact, Chloe Bailey and Burna Boy seemed poised to become the next power couple in music for the year 2025, when she traveled to Lagos just before the holidays.
Upon arriving at the airport in Nigeria, Chloe was reportedly welcomed by members of the Afrobeats star’s team, who presented her with a massive bouquet of flowers. This was the first gesture from Burna Boy that raised eyebrows.
From there, she was chauffeured to meet the “Bundle By Bundle” singer for the day’s plans. Later, the pair were spotted in what appeared to be a bustling downtown area, with Chloe riding in Burna Boy’s droptop Lamborghini. This quickly fueled more speculations about their alleged romance.
Following this, many videos and photos quickly surfaced from their night at a club, where they danced together, held hands, and enjoyed each other’s company. However, their connection extended beyond just one evening. The following day, more clips appeared on social media, showing the duo at an open-air gathering.
Chloe seemed more at ease with Burna Boy, allowing herself to be wrapped in his arms as they enjoyed the night. Since December 17, however, there hasn’t been much discussion about the status of their relationship. Eventually, lots of video of the pair them getting cosy in various hotspots in Lagos flooded the internet.
At the time, neither Bailey nor Burna addressed the speculation that they are an item. However, Chloe Bailey has now spoken about the rumours.
During her recent appearance on The Breakfast Club on Wednesday, January 8, Chloe Bailey was asked about her relationship with Burna Boy and she gave an answer.
While discussing her recent NAACP Image Awards nomination, Chloe Bailey was asked if Burna Boy would be her date for the event.
“You’ll have to ask him,” she replied, dodging the question.
Not deterred, the host persisted in asking about the Afrobeats legend, but Bailey once again deflected the questions.
She said: “Nigeria was so beautiful, I had the best time”, while the hosts burst into laughter.
Chloe Bailey kept on avoiding the conversation about she and Burna Boy’s dating rumours, and instead, kept talking about the food she ate and the nightlife back in Nigeria.
When Bailey was asked very directly whether or not they’re in a relationship, the singer refused to answer. Instead, she said: “I’m a grown woman.”
The 26-year-old artist also claimed she hadn’t come across rumors of Burna Boy being with another woman after her visit to Lagos.
“He’s a grown man,” she stated. “Just like I’m a grown woman.”
