After trying for so long to bear children the couple was finally able to through in-vitro fertilization. The very first of her children came into the world in 2001 and her twin boys were born 9 years later, in 2010.
However, the three boys are step-siblings to Rene Angelil’s other children from his previous marriage. Interestingly, their mother’s first stepson was born in the same year as her.

‘RC’ or ‘Big Tip’ as his fans and followers know him, Rene-Charles was born to Celine and Rene Angelil on January 25, 2001, in West Palm Beach, Florida. His birth was announced on television moments after.
He is the very first of the couple’s children after his mother’s two surgeries and several months of trying to conceive. His birth came to be after his parents settled for in-vitro fertilization.
The older of 2 boys is also a musician and has remixed songs by notable musicians like The Weekend.
Beginning his career in 2018, he also has a few songs up on music platforms and some of them are titled ‘Never Stop’, ‘The Apple’ and The Kid’, and ‘Catwalks’, to name just a few.
Amazingly, in the same year, he topped the R&B charts on Soundcloud under the stage name ‘Big Tip’.
Though his style of music is different from that of his mum, he is doing quite well in his rap field and even released an album in 2021 titled ‘CasiNo.5’.

Celine Dion’s Twin Sons were Born after a Miscarriage
About 8 years after the birth of her first child, Celine Dion conceived again in 2009 but unfortunately lost the baby via a miscarriage.
Soon after, she conceived again after about 5 IVF treatments despite being 42 years old at that time.
With her faith and persistence, the musician was able to birth her twin sons on October 23, 2010. They were born in St. Mary’s Medical Center, West Palm Beach, Florida through a Caesarean section.
Dion named the boys after her favorite French songwriter, Eddy Marnay, and former South African President, Nelson Mandela whom she met in 2008 during her World tour.
The boys, Eddy and Nelson Angelil, are currently 14 years old. They are bilingual(fluent in French and English) and still focused on their schooling and so may have not started showing interest in pursuing a certain career path.

Celine Dion’s Children Have 3 Older Step Siblings
Rene-Charles, Eddy and Nelson Angelil are the younger step-siblings to Rene Angelil’s older children. Their father was married twice before he got married to the ‘The Color of My Love’ singer.
Rene’s first child is named Patrick Angelil who was born in 1968 from his first marriage to Denyse Duquette. The marriage lasted from 1966 to 1972 and Patrick was the only child he shared with her.
2 years later, Big Tip’s father remarried a Canadian pop singer known as Anne Renee. With her, he had 2 more children named Jean-Pierre born in 1974, and Anne-Marie born in 1977. The talent manager divorced Anne in 1986 and 14 years later, she remarried Marc Dupre, a fellow singer.

How Celine Dion Met the Father of Her Children
Rene-Charles and his brothers were born from a romance that started when their mother was 19 years old.
7 years prior, the Canadian singer was introduced to her first and only love when her brother and mother sent a recording of her singing, to the then 38-year-old Rene Angelil.
Celine stated that when he heard the song, he cried and then invited her over for an audition in Quebec. From then, he became her talent manager, sacrificing a lot to push her career to the heights.
By 1988, 2 years after his second marriage ended, Eddy and Nelson’s parents began a secret relationship. The 5-time Grammy Award singer was still a teenager at the time and her mother strongly disapproved of the relationship.
Celine was adamant and stubbornly sticking to her love life and in 1993 was engaged to her manager. The next year, on December 17, 1994, the couple wedded in an extravagant ceremony at Montreal’s Notre Dame Basilica. The ceremony was broadcast on Canadian TV channels.

The Boys Lost their Dad When They were 15 and 5 Years Old
4 years after the marriage between Celine Dion and the father of her 3 children, her husband was diagnosed with throat cancer. This was about 3 years before the birth of their first child. By 2000, he had recovered fully and they began the process of babymaking.
Unfortunately, cancer resurfaced in 2013 and this time, it was a lot more intense than it was 15 years prior.
The mother of 3 took time out from her career to tend to her sick husband but in 2015, he convinced her to return to work. A year later, on January 14, 2016 (2 days before his 74th birthday), Rene Angelil died of cancer.
Celine Dion’s children were just 15 and 5 years old at the time of the father’s death. The oldest of her kids, Rene-Charles even gave a heartfelt, emotional eulogy at his father’s funeral.
Despite being young, he had developed a strong bond with his father and had so many fond memories of their time together.
Rene Angelil was buried at the same basilica he got married to the mother of his last 3 children. The marriage lasted 22 years.

A few months after the death of his father, Rene-Charles was given the privilege to present the Icon Award at the 2016 Billboard Music Award to his mother. The moment was such a pleasant one as the singer was left emotional.
