Carla Santos Shamberg has been married twice and divorced once. She first married Miami-born actor William H. Macy in 1980, but the marriage lasted for 5 years and ended in a divorce without the couple having any children together. No reason has been given for the split at that time and even now.

Going further, Carla and her ex-husband moved on with life after the divorce and found love in the arms of other people a decade later. In 1996, she got married to American film producer Michael Shamberg and had a child together. Additionally, she is a stepmother to two of her husband’s children from his failed marriage with film producer Megan Williams.

On the other hand, her ex-husband William H. Macy got married on September 6, 1997, to 62-year-old American actress Felicity Huffman. They have two children; Sophia Grace Macy and Georgia Grace Macy.

In 2022, the 70-year-old film producer was one of the executive producers that produced a four-part Netflix documentary series Meltdown: Three Mile Island. The docu-series highlights the story of the worst nuclear plant accident in America’s history which took place at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Plant in Pennsylvania on March 28, 1979.
