Seether’s songs such as Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray and Karma and Effect topped music charts like US Alternative Albums, and US Hard Rock Album.

The South African rock band was formally known as Saron Gas until 2002. The group was formed in 1999 in Pretoria, Gauteng with Shaun Morgan, Tronne Morris, and Dave Cohoe as band members.

The band’s music style has been described as a post-grunge, alternative metal, hard rock, and nu-metal group, and it is said to be influenced by American grunge groups like Nirvana and Alice in Chains.

Fine Again was written by Shaun Morgan after his parents divorced. The song aided Seether to gain mainstream popularity. It has topped No.1 on the US Active Rock and No.3 on US Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks.

In 2002, the track was featured on the 2002 video game Madden 2003 Nintendo’s 1080 Avalanche, and also the movie Boy Erased.

Remedy is reportedly the first single by Seether to hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. The song has featured as a theme song for WWE’s pay-per-view Summerslam 2005. it also became a downloadable song in the rock band network on March 18, 2010.

Broken was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and also the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA).

Fake It is the second biggest hit by the band. It has topped No.1 on both the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks for eight weeks and Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart for eight weeks also. It was also on No.56 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified platinum by the RIAA.

Rise Above This is said to be Seether’s second consecutive number-one song on the US Modern Rock chart. It is worthy to note that vocalist Shaun Morgan has shared that the song was written to bring his brother Eugene Welgemeoed out of depression before he committed suicide.
