Close to two decades since the first episode of Boondocks was aired in 2005 and almost a decade since the last episode aired in 2014, it remains one of the most powerful adult animated sitcoms which makes so much sense that people are still wondering what the best Boondocks episodes might just be.
Created by Aaron McGruder, it was announced in 2019 that the Cartoon Network late-night show was soon going to return, but by 2022, it was made clear that the idea of having it back was shelved. Nonetheless, the show which had a focus on race as it relates to the dysfunctional family of the Freeman as they relate to the white community still has many great episodes that never get old.
When the TV series ended in 2014, it had run for four seasons and 55 episodes. The animated show brought some amazing voice actors including Regina King who voiced Huey Freeman and Riley Freeman, John Witherspoon (Robert “Granddad” Freeman), and Gary Williams (Uncle Ruckus). 1. Stinkmeaner Strikes Back

The Stinkmeaner episodes are, needless to say, some of the very best episodes of Boondocks, but Episode 4 of Season 2 tops them all with Stinkmeaner Strikes Back.
In previous episodes, Grandad killed Colonel Stinkmeaner in a fight and the blind man is still not ready to let go of things even in death. His ghost returns after making a deal with the devil and takes over the body of Tom and he terrorizes the Freeman family.
2. The Return of the King

Written by Aaron McGruder and Yamara Taylor, The Return of the King is arguably the best Boondocks episode. With a 9/10 star rating on IMDB, this episode tells the story of Martin Luther King who after he was shot in 1968, did not die but went into a coma and returned after 32 years in 2000.
He realized that contrary to his ideology of peace, even the street named after him was one of the most violent places in America. More so, it was clear to him that the country no longer cared about his ideology of non-violence.
3. A Date with the Booty Warrior

Finally, Tom gets to conquer one of his greatest fears of being raped in prison. He takes advantage of this and decides to take the boys and some classmates on a prison tour following a Sacred Stiff Programme.
Things do not go as planned as a riot catches them there. Now, he has to get the kids out and save himself from being raped.
4. The Fund-Raiser

Riley gets into the business of candy selling to raise funds for himself. He is driven by the success of Jazmine and other kids from his school who were able to raise money for the school by selling candy.
Although his fake fundraising is yielding so much money, there is a brutal gang from the UK that he has to contend with. Apart from being one of the best episodes, The Fund-Raiser is also one of the most entertaining Boondocks episodes.
5. It’s a Black President, Huey Freeman

While Obama is campainging to become America’s first black president, attemts are made to rubbish his ambition by linking him to the far left. He is linked to Huey Freeman who is tagged a domestic terrorist. Following the election, a documentary is released on the Freeman family.

Grandad takes Riley and Huey to watch Soul Plane 2. Instead of paying for the movie, he decides to sneak them in because of the exorbitant prices charged even though Huey wants to pay for them. Huey attempts to sabotage the film. However, he has Uncle Ruckus to face in his attempt.
7. The Story of Catcher Freeman

Grandpa tells the story of Catcher Freeman whom he claims is an ancestor of the family. According to him, Catcher is a warrior who helped blacks during slavery and defeated the white folks. Riley does not believe any of the stories.
Uncle Ruckus has another version of the Catcher Freeman story stating that Catcher Freeman was catching blacks for the whites. There is even another version that might just be the true story.
8. Stinkmeaner 3: The Hateocracy

After Robert Freeman killed Stinkmeaner in a fight, three elderly individuals who call themselves members of the Hateocrcy arrived at Woodcrest ib order to revenge the death of one of them.
Beyond carrying the same hate as Stinkmeaner and devoting their lives to causing pain to people, these elderly individuals are also skilled at martial arts. The Freeman family is now in danger.

Riley finds himself in confusion and disbelief that his favorite rapper, Gangstalicious may be gay. With the obvious clues, he confronts the rapper who denies it. Riley believes Ganstalicious and starts behaving in a feminine way to emulate the rapper but Grandad will have none of it.

Granddad gets into a Nigger moment with a blind man named Colonel H. Stinkmeaner who goes to the extent of stepping on Grandad’s new sneaker shoes.
In the fight that ensues, grandpa gets humiliated by the blind Stinkmeaner. Not only was he made fun of in the news, but Riley also continues to make fun of him and in anger, he sets a fighting match with the blind man.

The biggest fear of District Attorney Tom Dubois of being anally raped in prison seems to be coming true after he is falsely accused of killing someone because his description fits that of the killer.
Huey and Riley go all out to prove that Tom is innocent and so they sought the help of Ed III and his friend, Gin Rummy, but things didn’t go exactly as they had hoped.

Not only is this one of the best episodes of Boondocks, but it is also one of the most significant. Riley gets called the N-Word in class and so Grandad and the good Rev. Rolo Goodlove decided to sue the school, taking advantage of the event to cash out.

In season 7 episode 15 of the animated series, Uncle Ruckus gets to have his show on the network, BET, after Huey failed in his bid to stop the show from airing.
Although he would go on to claim that his DNA shows he is 32.5% Scottish, a DNA test on the show came to show that he is 102% African, with only a 2% margin of error.

A chicken virus has hit the US, coming from KFC. Huey Freeman has a plan of saving his family and surviving the plague. His plans suddenly seem to be running out of control as Riley and granda are now having their friends over.

15. The Passion of Reverend Ruckus

Among the best Boondocks episodes is The Passion of Reverend Ruckus which centers on Uncle Ruckus’s effort at converting everyone to love white people and hate blacks to go to heaven.
On his part, Huey Freeman is trying to assist a black man who is on death row after he was wrongly convicted of murder.
