On 19th December 2016, the country songwriter died while on Vacation in Turks and Caicos three days after celebrating his 40th birthday. At the time he passed away, Miami-Dade medical examiner’s office has not released his cause of death, and it has remained so to this day.
His older brother, actor Stephen Dorff, opened up on what seemed to be the circumstance leading to the songwriter’s death during an interview with Larry King. According to him, they don’t know the cause of his death officially, however, there was some drinking and there was a jacuzzi, and there was water too.
