Alexis Bledel is the now ex-wife of Vincent Kartheiser with whom she once had a fling in the movie Mad Men. The couple met on the set of that movie and soon after, revealed that they were in a relationship.
Both actors, shared their love for privacy, 8 years of marriage, and a son. Unfortunately, following the news of the divorce, their business is out in the open and their marriage has ended.
Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser Took an On-screen Romance to Real Life
Gilmore Girls star, Alexis (43) met her then-actor boyfriend, Vincent in 2011 while they both co-starred in Mad Men. By the next year, they confirmed their relationship despite their love for privacy.
According to the 45-year-old actor, they did not begin their relationship while working together. Kartheiser stated that they only got together two months after they were done filming.
Despite the disclaimer, other cast and crew on set with them revealed that there was obvious chemistry between the co-stars. They even had some rooting for their love as they believe they looked good together.
In 2013, the 4-time Emmy award nominee and her boyfriend got engaged. They kept this information under wraps but Vincent couldn’t hold it in for longer as he confirmed it during an interview.
The couple eventually went on to have a secret wedding in Ojai, California in June 2014. The ceremony was low-key, very intimate, relaxed, and beautiful, as they wanted it.
Individually, Vincent and his wife love the privacy and keeping their personal lives out of the media’s eyes. According to Vincent, some things are better left private and out of public eyes. He insists that when certain information leaves its privacy, it loses its magic.

Do Alexis Bledel and Vincent Have Children?
Bledel Alexis fondly known as ‘Rory’ from The Handmaid’s Tale, and her husband actually have a son together. This information was unknown to the public because, unsurprisingly, they kept the information under locks and keys.
A co-star of the actress however revealed in 2016 that the couple welcomed a son during the fall of 2015. According to Scot Patterson, the source, she and the new mom, Bledel were in constant communication. They shared motherhood notes and videos to help each other through the phase.
Patterson’s child, at the time, was a year and a half older than Katherseir’s and she was helping Alexis navigate through her new condition.
This revelation came as a surprise to many because there were no hints or pictures of the Gilmore Girls actress being pregnant. Then again, it isn’t shocking that the media were left in oblivion.
As of 2022, the couple’s child would be 9 years old. Still, there are no pictures or information about his name or exact date of birth.
The Couple Divorced in August 2022
Vincent Kathersier filed for divorce from his wife Alexis Bledel on August 10, 2022. This divorce comes just a month after the couple’s 8th wedding anniversary.
It took barely two weeks after the filing, for the divorce settlement to be finalized and for the couple to go their separate ways. On August 28, the Putnam County Supreme court where Vincent filed the divorce, finalized the case by granting the divorce.
The reason for this marriage’s crash hasn’t been revealed yet, however, some sources claim that the couple hasn’t had time for themselves.
The last time they were seen together in public was a couple of years ago. Seeing that both of them have been busy, it is suspected that their busy schedules have put a strain on their relationship.
Alexis who initially wanted to be an architect, then director, before opting for acting, has had quite a busy career since she began acting at the age of 18. Now, she even has home décor as a side hustle but she believes it doesn’t take up a lot of her time. We, however, can’t say the for her husband who has a lot of movie credits to his name.
The busy schedule hasn’t been confirmed to be the reason for their divorce because haven’t confirmed it. Nonetheless, it is a safe guess for the media.
The Divorce isn’t Alexis’ First Break-up This Year
The Handmaid’s Tale actress was in break-up news earlier in the year before that of her marriage. She, in May 2022, announced that she was leaving the aforementioned series before its 5th season.
Though grateful for the opportunity to be part of the creation, Alexis Bledel called it quits with the Hulu-produced series. She did not categorically state her reason but the series crew stated that it was a personal decision made by the actress.
As earlier stated, she did not want to be an actress and would have opted for something else because she was a shy young woman. However, her mother encouraged her to try community theatre to help her overcome her shyness.
Three months after her exit from the series, the one-time Emmy Awards winner also ended her marriage to her husband of 8 years, howbeit not her call.
