- The 33–year-old Louisiana State University graduate has a striking resemblance with Takeoff – an American rapper who was killed in 2022
- Actor Orlando Brown made the rumor of the connection between Dotson and Takeoff go viral
Aaron Dotson finds himself in the center of debate as to whether he is the Migos rapper, Takeoff or there is just a coincidence. Well, the internet points out both stories but based on our findings, Aaron Dotson is an African-American former professional basketball player who currently coaches the game.
As much as we know, he is not a rapper but a public speaker with good communication skills. So, what is the true story about Dotson being the reincarnation or probably a body double of Takeoff?
Family and Early Life of Dotson
Aaron Dotson was born in America on March 31, 1991, to Anthony Dotson Sr. and Adrienne Dotson.
He hails from Seattle and was raised alongside his two siblings – a brother named Anthony Dotson Jr. and a sister, Averi Dotson.
He was exposed to basketball at a young age. This would lead him to play competitively while attending Garfield High School. In 2008, he led his team to the Class 3A State Championship.
Dotson later headed to Louisiana State University where he played basketball. Two years later, he transferred to the University of Utah where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communication and Rhetoric in 2013.
The Alleged Takeoff Reincarnation Played Professional Basketball and is Now a Coach
Dotson who is believed to be the new Migos rapper has an extensive career playing basketball.
Following his college career, he started a professional career playing for Idaho Stampede through the NBA D-League.
He played there for a year (2014 to 2015) before fully focusing on his basketball skills instruction career at Elite Skills Academy in Syracuse. Aaron had other skill development careers before he moved to Detriot Pistons as a coach in 2019.
Why People Believe that Aaron Dotson is TakeOff
First, it has been noticed by internet users that Dotson has a striking resemblance with the late rapper. Also, musician and actor, Orlando Brown claimed that Takeoff never died but he is Aaron Dotson and lives in Atlanta.
In the report, Orlando made an allegation that Takeoff faked his death. However, when asked to elaborate, he laughed it off.
Furthermore, Orlando claimed that Takeoff only wanted to take a new form. When asked about the man arrested for Takeoff’s murder since the rapper is purportedly alive, Brown made another allegation that they set the guy (said killer) up.
It can be recalled that Takeoff died on 1 November 2022 at 28. His death was caused by injuries sustained from gunshots after attending a private party in Houston, Texas.
The shooting was said to have been caused by an altercation of which Takeoff was not part. Instead, he was only a bystander who was fatally struck.
A man named Patrick Xavier Clark was arrested in connection. He was later released on a $1 million bond in the early days of January 2023. Towards the end of May 2023, he was indicted for the murder.
Since there is already evidence that Takeoff was killed and even laid to rest, how true is Orlando Brown’s story about Aaron Dotson?
…But is Dotson Truly Takeoff?
There are people who believe Orlando’s story that Takeoff faked his own death. Others are just not buying the story.
Well, this is not the first time that there are claims that certain rappers may have faked their death. There are claims from TuPac‘s former bodyguard, Michael Nice that the rapper faked his death and was smuggled to Cuba with the help of Fidel Castro.
Now, coming back to Dotson being Takeoff, Orlando may be saying the truth – or probably not! It is no news that Orlando Brown has found himself in drug addiction-related issues.
Back in 2018, the Hollywood actor and musician joined for an intervention-style interview over the claims by his friends that the That’s So Raven actor had mental problems.
Again, in February 2023, it was made known that he was going to get a mental evaluation ahead of a criminal case against him.
