The Anime universe is one that is large. It brags of every kind you want to see. There are some incredibly great anime that leave people in awe but, in the same way, there are many that are simply unwatchable.
In this article, we have collected the worst anime you will have the misfortune to get to see.
Worst Anime you will ever get to see
11. 3D Girlfriend: Real Girl
This is one of those anime that you think are going somewhere at the beginning, only to end up disappointed. It’s a story about teen love.
An awkward, indifferent geek develops feelings for a pretty girl and they begin going out, while their friends struggle with their own emotions and the rollercoaster that is their teenage years.
Sounds interesting, but they managed to ruin it by constantly pitting the couple against each other. They just couldn’t agree on anything. The male lead is an oaf and his unbelievable naivete will make you want to throw a shoe at your screen.
10. Hakyuu Houshin Engi
When people say movies are not as good as the books they’re based on, Houshin Engi is a perfect illustration of that.
It is inspired by the popular novel Creation of the Gods. It follows Taikobo, an immortal who wants to save the nation from a cunning spirit called Daki who has the emperor under her spell.
What makes this one of the worst animes ever is the fact that everything feels rushed and the storyline is an absolute mess.
9. Märchen Mädchen
There’s absolutely nothing redeemable about this anime. It takes every single commonplace narrative that has been overdone in the world of superhero girls with magical powers.
It tries to take us into the lives of the characters and the fantasy, but it doesn’t have enough spunk or humor to see it through. Even the visuals are bland and awful to look at.
8. My Sister, My Writer
For an anime that has a very controversial topic like incest at its center, this one doesn’t provide enough entertainment to balance out the awkwardness. It is very low-quality acting, animation, and storytelling.
It’s disturbing enough to watch two siblings who are boning each other or desperately wanting to, but everything makes it unbearable, so it has earned a spot on this list of worst animes.
7. Deadman Wonderland
Unbridled violence is one of the reasons we love anime, but Deadman Wonderland proves that you can’t save an empty plot by just throwing blood and fight scenes around.
The characters are just not interesting enough, even the protagonists don’t make you look forward to the next episodes. You’re better off never ever seeing this.

6. Holmes of Kyoto
This is one of the worst animes you can do yourself the displeasure of watching.
It started out great with the Sherlock Holmes type lead character, a smart guy detective who solves mysteries related to antiques, but it fell short of its promise.
The mysteries he was supposed to be solving weren’t intriguing, and the episode leaves the viewers frustrated and bored out of their minds.
5. Darling in the Franchise
There were a lot of high hopes riding on the back of this series, but it didn’t live up to any of those expectations.
It’s a story set in s post-apocalyptic world where kids are trained as pilots to fly mechanical and save what is left of the human race.
Although it had decent character arcs and a plot that wasn’t all the way broken in the beginning, those things were pretty much gone by the time the finale approached.
4. Generation of Chaos
If there is an anime you should absolutely avoid because of how terrible it is, Generation Chaos would be it. It was released as a prelude to an eponymously titled game, but it surely didn’t leave anyone in the least bit eager to get their hands on the game.
It basically cut and sewed two different stories together and hoped the viewer wouldn’t notice. The CGI is beyond horrible and a lot of the animation is literally recycled, even the music score will have you regretting every choice that led you to decide to watch it.
3. The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar
This is one of those animes that is overstuffed with tropes but has no actual substance. It follows Yuto Suoh who gets transported to a strange and ancient world after he takes a photo at an old shrine.
Somehow, he manages to become head of the clan and all the women are attracted to him for no reason. It falls flat on its face.

2. Cutie Honey Universe
A lot of people expected Cutie Honey Universe to be a great watch because it was created by no other than the legendary Go Nagal, but the anime wasn’t all that when it dropped.
The narrative was quite boring, littered with tropes and poorly developed characters. However, the graphics looked very good, which is all that can be said in its favor.
1. Between the Sky and Sea
Although it’s loosely based on a mobile phone game, this anime is a mess. The premise of the series is absolutely bonkers and ridiculous.
It tells the story of a young girl living in a world where all the fishes have died, so humans have to travel to space to find seafood.
And just in case that isn’t terrible enough, there’s a subplot about how virtual reality gods help them fish. It’s one of the worst animes there is because it is really a collection of bad ideas.
