Over the years, crime stories keep making the rounds and sending shivers down our spines due to their heinous nature. It never makes it easy when it is children who turn against their parents and kill them. These parricides or killings of parents are a sad reality that people like Daniel Halseth lost their lives to.
In his case, Halseth, an American single dad of three children was murdered by his youngest child, Sierra Halseth, and her then-boyfriend, Guerrero stabbed and mutilated his body before fleeing.
The pair were on the run for three days during which they made videos mocking the police. Thankfully, they were apprehended and prosecuted.
Daniel Halseth was Murdered by his Daughter and her Boyfriend in 2021
According to an obituary, Daniel Halseth died on April 1, 2021. However, news reports show that it was quite a tragic death involving his youngest child, Sierra Halseth, and her boyfriend who stabbed and dismembered his body.
The body was discovered after firefighters were called to put out a fire in the garage of Halseth’s Dunphy Court home in Las Vegas.
Taking a slow look into the final moments of Halseth, he was stabbed 70 times before his body was dismembered. His neck, head, and torso had suffered wounds made by sharp force.
On closer examination, it was discovered that Halseth was having marital issues that led to divorce.
Sierra, the youngest of his three children took advantage of this and pleaded to stay with her father. However, she got involved in a relationship with 18-year-old Aaron Guerrero which her father did not approve of.
The romantic relationship between the two was more sinister than everyone thought. They planned how to rob their parents and move to Los Angeles. However, Halseth discovered the plan and he stopped Sierra from seeing Aaron.
This move made the lovebirds move to another plan-killing Daniel. To make it work, on April 8, the two were seen buying a chainsaw, a handsaw, and lighter fluid.
Having completed that part, Sierra and Aaron killed and mutilated Daniel.
Through this act, Sierra became one of several children who kill their parents for one absurd reason or the other. Other recorded cases include:
- Lyle and Erik Menendez who killed their parents Jose and Kitty Menendez in 1989
- Alan Hruby of Oklahoma who murdered his parents, John and Tinker Hruby, as well as his little sister, Katherine in 2014
- Andrew Wamsley of Texas who killed his parents Rick and Suzanne Wamsley in 2003
- Anthony Bluml who murdered his adoptive parents, Roger and Melissa Bluml
