Christine Gacy is mostly known as the daughter of John Wayne Gacy, the infamous American serial killer and sex offender who raped, tortured, and murdered over 30 young men and boys in Norwood Park Township, near Chicago, Illinois. Christine, who successfully escaped being part of her father’s horrors is also not proud of being associated with ‘The Killer Clown’. Following the misdeeds and terrifying past of her father, she has chosen to stay out of the public eye for many years.
Life And Family Background Of Christine Gacy
Christine Gacy was born in October 1967, 3 years after her parents, John Wayne and Marlynn Myers tied the knot. She is not the only child of her parents as she has an older brother, Michael Gacy who was born in 1966.
Not much has been recorded about Christine’s childhood but her father had previously said that having her and her brother was the perfect period of his life.
All about her family seemed to be going well until 1968, a year after her birth when her father was sentenced to prison after he was accused by two teenage boys of sexual assault.
Marlynn, Gacy’s wife, filed for divorce on the same day that he was sentenced to prison. In her petition, she asked to be granted exclusive custody of their two children, the couple’s home, and alimony. On September 18, 1969, the divorce was finalized after the court decided in her favor.
Gacy never saw his first wife or kids again following the divorce. He was allowed to leave the prison in 1970 and married for the second time in 1972—the same year he started a gory murdering spree. He was a contractor by day and took on the evil identity of “Pogo the Clown” at night to execute his heinous acts.
Her father’s second marriage with Carole crashed on grounds of infidelity
Having met Carole Hoff briefly during high school, Gacy got engaged to her in August 1971. Shortly thereafter, Carole and her two young girls from a previous marriage moved into his home. They got married on July 1, 1972.
After three years of marriage, in 1975, Gacy told his wife he was bisexual. He eventually started spending most of his evenings away from home, returning early in the morning under the pretext that he had been conducting business meetings or working late. In addition, Carole saw Gacy escorting teenage boys into his garage in the wee hours of the morning. She also discovered inside the home gay pornography, men’s wallets, and identification. Gacy angrily told her it was none of her concern when she challenged him about these items.
Following a furious disagreement, Carole filed for divorce from Gacy in October 1975. He consented, but she lived at his place until February 1976 by mutual agreement. They completed their divorce on March 2 of that year.
Her Father was Executed for His Crimes on May 10, 1994
As was previously mentioned, Gacy left the prison and went on a horrifying killing rampage. He was a contractor by day and took on the evil identity of “Pogo the Clown” at night. He killed 33 people between 1972 and 1978, luring them to his house with the prospect of construction work. After entering, he tortured and strangled his victims and buried their remains beneath his home, among other horrifying acts.
Police suspicions regarding the disappearance of 15-year-old Robert Piest marked the beginning of the end for John Wayne Gacy’s murderous reign. Authorities discovered evidence in Gacy’s home that indicated there had been more than one victim after obtaining a search warrant.
In the end, 29 dead were found by authorities in the crawl space under Gacy’s home, and four more were dumped in the Des Plaines River because there wasn’t enough room at home. Gacy was convicted of 33 murder counts in 1981, given a capital sentence, and executed on May 10, 1994, by lethal injection.

Where is Christine Gacy Now?
After Christine and her father went separate ways in 1969 she decided to stay in the shadows. As expected, being the daughter of a rapist and serial killer subjected her, her brother, and her mother to public scrutiny and unfavorable portrayals. Being identified with a father with such a terrible past may be a lot to deal with.
Moreover, Karen, her aunt once revealed that Christine and her brother resisted efforts to stay in touch with her during an appearance on a chat show hosted by Oprah. Karen also said that Christine had changed her last name to dissociate herself from anything that had to do with her father. She further declined to feature in the Netflix documentary about her father’s life. Her mother, however, has appeared in the documentaries John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise and Evil Lives Here.
