Andrew Tate’s parents, Emory and Eileen Tate are not as well known as the internet personality, businessman, and former mixed martial arts who won MMA championships as well as made an appearance on Big Brother. Aside from these, Tate has also been in the news for not-so-good reasons including arrest for human trafficking, forming an organized crime group, and rape. Obviously, Tate was born during Emory and Eileen Tate’s short-lived marriage. The pair reportedly got married in 1985 and had their son in 1986 at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC. Aside from Andrew, they welcomed two other children, Tristan and Janine Tate during their 12-year marriage.
Arguably, their marriage had the semblance of normalcy as they supported their young children and even attended church as a family. He was born on December 27, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois to Emory Andrew Tate I and Emma Cox Tate. He is of African-American descent. Based on his name, we can infer that he is the second member of his family to use the name followed by his own son.
The details about Emory’s life show that his father was a judge and he grew up in a large household surrounded by 8 other siblings. One thing that is unique about this period was his passion for chess and languages. Unsurprisingly, he started learning chess at the age of 3 and later learned Spanish in 1975 when he was an exchange student in Mexico.
Focusing on his career, Emory started out as a linguist in the US Air Force. In the position of sergeant, he distinguished himself with his language skills. He Rose to Become a Highly Rated ChessPlayer
As mentioned earlier, Emory decided to become a chess player. Admittedly, he was a self-taught player who never studied chess books or even played the game on computers yet he was able to rise to become one of the most highly-rated chess players in the world.
It would be recalled that he started teaching his children the game when they were little. Andrew is said to have started playing at 6 and even winning over much older kids. Moving on, Emory started making waves among chess fans and players in his hometown of Michiana where he rose to become a statewide champion. By 1993, he shared his skills with elementary school children by teaching them as part of a community school board program.
With a record of 5 US Air Force Chess championships and 5 state championships among many others, his style was considered to be a creative and dangerous tactic. Also, his skills earned him the street name Extraterrestrial. At his peak, Emory had a FIDE rating of 2413 in 2006. In 2010, Andrew’s father was inducted into the Indiana State Chess Hall of Fame as far back as 2005.

Having made a name for himself as a great chess player, his sad death on October 17, 2015, was quite shocking. According to reports, he suffered a heart attack during a tournament in Milpitas, California.
Eileen Tate
Eileen Ashleigh Tate is an English woman who is said to be a retired cook. As mentioned earlier, she moved back to Luton after her divorce from Emory and as a result, she raised their children as a single mother. In those years, Eileen worked as a catering assistant in an educational institution to support herself and her children.
According to her children, she raised them in a tough way. Regardless of this, they remained close to her even after they grew up. Tristan revealed that they asked her to retire from her cooking job so they could take care of her. Through this arrangement, Eileen is paid £5,000 monthly. Reportedly, she is not the only one who does not have to work as they have also extended the invitation to her second husband whom she married after the divorce.
