Arnelle Simpson is a 56-year-old African-American woman who rose to fame for being involved in one of America’s most famous murder cases which involved her father, O.J. Simpson. She is also the first child of five children of Simpson – an actor, and former NFL player.
She was Born the Same Day Her Father Won the Heisman Trophy
Arnelle Simpson was born on December 4, 1968, the same year that her father won the infamous Heisman Trophy in a game that has been described as the greatest football game of the 20th century.
She was born to O.J. and his first wife Marguerite L. Whitley. Her parents were high school lovers and her father was 21 years old when she was born.
Arnelle is from a long lineage of people who have contributed their quota to different careers. Her paternal grandfather Jimmy Lee Simpson was a renowned drag queen who later identified as gay and later died of AIDs in 1986. He also worked at the Federal Reserve Bank.
Arnelle’s paternal grandmother was a hospital administrator.
What Does Arnelle Simpson Do?
The 56-year-old is a graduate of Howard University. Her exact career is not known but she reportedly controlled her father’s estate and his $25,000 pension.
There are claims that she has not been able to maintain a job, partly because of her back and forth in court due to her father’s alleged crimes. Also, it has been claimed that she was the sole guardian of her siblings whose mother, Nicole was allegedly killed by Simpson.
In another report, there have been claims that she is an alcoholic. The allegation went as far as making it known that right from time, she had issues with her father as a result.
So the story goes, alcoholism and shopping made her spend most of her father’s pension on herself and O.J.’s estate suffered in the course. The spending reportedly made her father furious.

How She Was a Key Witness in Her Father’s Murder Case
In 1995, Arnelle who was then 26 years old became an important witness after her father, O.J. was accused of the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson.
Prior to Nicole’s death on June 12, 1994, O.J. became the prime suspect. In a bid to arrest him, it led to one of America’s most-watched events with about 95 million live watches.
To prove his innocence, Arnelle stood to testify. She claimed that her father was upset, emotional, and confused following the murder. She described him going numb while watching how he was being called a suspect on TV.
She made another testimony that contradicted a major and damaging testimony of a former police officer, Ronald Shipp. While Shipp claimed that O.J. had told him the night after the killing that he (Simpson) had a dream to kill his wife Nicole. Arnelle countered his testimony with the claim that Shipp was never alone with her father at the time he claimed the men had the said conversation.
Her contribution to the case among others led to O.J. Simpson being acquitted for the murder.
