Troy Garity’s wife was born in 1970 to Boswell Bent, a former attorney, and Dee L. Bent, a banker and community organizer. It is widely reported that after her high school education, she did not further pursue any form of formal education.
Falling in love with Grease’s musical movie, Bent decided that she wanted to be just like the characters she watched. She then began to pursue a life and career in the movie industry.
At the age of 24, in 1994, she made her first movie appearance. Subsequently, she was only featured in supporting roles. She played no notable lead role in her about 10 years of activity in the movie industry.
Her most recent Hollywood special thanks credit was for the 2018 documentary film titled Jane Fonda in Five Acts.
She Has Been Married For 17 Years
Simone Bent met her husband back in 2004 on the set of a movie and they began to date shortly after. 2 years into the relationship, the couple decided to take another step into their romance and they got engaged in 2006.
Troy Garity’s mother, Jane Fonda, even helped him pick out the ring that he used in proposing to his girlfriend. Fonda is a renowned American actress and when she got to meet her son’s girlfriend, she loved her and welcomed her.
On August 27, 2007, the couple got married in St. Paul’s Chapel, Columbia University. Reports have it that about 500 people attended the ceremony.

When Bent stopped acting and began to focus on her life as a wife, she became part of her husband’s charity foundation. Troy started the Peace Process Network which is aimed at preventing gang violence in the United States.
Bent’s husband is passionate about the prevention of gang violence in Los Angeles. As such, he not only pioneers his own organization but lends helping hands to other forums with the same cause and vision.
He is also the chairman of the violence prevention group, Homies Unidos, located in Los Angeles.
Given his family background, it is no surprise that Troy is involved in several charitable causes. His mother founded the Fonda Family Foundation because of her knack for philanthropy. Simone Bent’s husband is also on the board of directors of this foundation.
Troy Garity and his Wife Have No Kids
The former actress and her husband have not welcomed any children in their marriage yet. There is an image of Troy carrying a baby in an Instagram post that is dated sometime back but there is no mention as regards whether the baby is a product of his marriage.
Nonetheless, Simone Bent’s husband is a half-uncle to a boy and a girl. His half-sister, Vanessa is the mother of Malcom Vadim and Viva Vadim.

Bent’s Husband Hails from a Lineage of Actors
Troy Garity hails from a family of actors and influential people. His mother, Jane Seymour Fonda is an American actress, activist, and one-time model. Tom Hayden is a social and political activist, author, and politician.
Henry Jaynes Fonda, Troy’s grandfather was an American actor whose career lasted for about 50 years. He served as a Broadway actor as well as a Hollywood star.
Garity’s uncle and cousin, Peter and Bridget, are also renowned American actors.
He has a half-sister named Vanessa Vadim who is also in the entertainment industry. Vanessa, unlike the rest of the family, doesn’t work in front of the camera. She is a director and cinematographer.
With this history, it is no surprise that Garity would follow in the most prominent footsteps of his family. He started as a child actor, starring in his parent’s travelogue when he was barely a year old.
In his 50 years of acting, he has been in movies such as the Barbershop film series, Soldier’s Girl, Hawaii Five-0, and After the Sunset.
