Dianne Kay is a former American actress who retired from acting in 1999 and is now living a low-key life in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles. After making waves as one of the casts of the series Eight is Enough, people began to look forward to seeing a lot of her on the big screens. This was unfortunately not the case.
The actress retired from acting after starring in the 1999 movie, Diagnosis Murder, and chose to focus on her family. However, a few years later, she was diagnosed with cancer but more recent news stated that she has recovered. Dianne Kay even attempted a comeback in the movie industry.
Dianne Kay Battled with Cancer
Dianne Kay’s last known location as of 2015, is the Pacific Palisades. She resides there as Dianne Kay Silvera.
The 1941 actress was diagnosed with cancer of the kidney in 2001 and began to fight it. A few years later, after treatment and all, she won the battle. By 2011 she was in remission and recovering well.
Since she retired from acting in 1999, Dianne moved out of New York and became focused on raising a family.
In fact, when the cast of the famous period sitcom Eight is Enough was on The Today Show in the early 2000s, she wasn’t part of them. Kay however joined the show via satellite from Los Angeles.
Despite being retired and initially having health challenges, a Facebook page dedicated to her intimated fans and followers every now and again. From there, it was deduced that she planned on making a comeback in the movie industry.
News had it that Dianne Kay planned on starting a sitcom based on her life as an actress through the years. The sitcom titled Seconds would feature aspects of her life as a married middle-aged woman, and mother.
She was born in Phoenix, Arizona
Dianne Kay was born on March 29, 1954, to Mr. Peter Kay and Mrs. Miriam Kay. Her father was a legislator who served for about 20 years while her mother worked as a teacher in schools located in Scottsdale.
Dianne has a sister known as Karen Kay who lives in Temper and got married to Mr. Barney.
The Kay family lived in Phoenix for a long time and after over 4 decades, moved to Tempe. However, the actress left home earlier to pursue a career in acting.
When she was just 13 years old, the 70-year-old actress began her career in a local children’s theater in Phoenix. She later enrolled at the University of Arizona, Tucson where she graduated with a B.Sc. in Mass Communication in 1975.
Upon her graduation, she began to shuffle between states in the United States of America. She initially moved to Los Angeles and from there, in 1976, her career in front of the camera began. Soon after, New York called and she answered by being part of the cast of several movies produced in the Big Apple.
Her first ever role was in 1976 as ‘Meter Maid’ in the Series The Kids From C. A. P. E. R. but her big break did not come until she was 24 years old.
