The popular American clinical psychologist and TV host, Dr. Philip Calvin McGraw popularly known as Dr. Phil, announced the end of his 21-year-old talk show on January 31, 2023, in a statement to Variety Magazine. He is a father of 2 sons, Jay and Jordan McGraw.

Debbie Higgins
The first of Dr. Phil’s wives is Debbie Higgins. She was born in 1950 in Las Vegas, Nevada, but was raised on a farm in Kansas, along with her brother, Bill Higgins, and sister, Linda Craft.
The Las Vegas born attended Shawnee Mission North High School in Overland Park, Kansas, where she met Philip McGraw. Their love blossomed even until graduation and he sealed it with a promise ring before they left for college.
While Phil went to the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma to play college football, Debbie moved to Southwest Missouri. However, the couple continued to take frequent trips to see each other. Unfortunately, due to a lack of funds, Debbie had to drop out of school after 2 semesters.

She went back home to Roeland Park and enrolled at Johnson County Community College and hairdressing school. Shortly after, McGraw had an injury while playing football, which caused him to move to Texas, where his Dad practiced psychology.
The young Debbie then moved to Lubbock to join Phil on his request and on November 27, 1970, they returned to Roeland Park and got married at her childhood church, Southbridge Presbyterian Church. They were both 20 years old when they got married.
Things took a different turn after their marriage. Phil changed from the sensitive and kind boyfriend he was. She revealed that he became abusive, verbally, emotionally, and even physically. Debbie also caused Phil of infidelity.
Their union only lasted 3 years as their divorce was finalized in December 1973. Both of them went on to marry different people.
Debbie was a business owner who also worked as an editor and was best known for the movie Demon Hunter: Fear The Silence. She died in 2014 from cancer.

Robin McGraw
Born on December 28, 1953, in Los Angeles, California, Robin McGraw is the second wife of the TV host. The couple met when Phil was just 19 years old, through his sister, when he went home to see his parents. Even though they felt an instant connection, Phiip went on to get married to his first wife, Debbie, a year later.
Shortly after his divorce from his first wife, he reconnected with Robin the same year and they started a relationship. They tied the knot in August 1976. Robin revealed they were very broke at the time that she had to wear a $99 dress for the ceremony.
3 years later, they welcomed their first child Jay McGraw. He was born on September 12, 1979, and their second son Jordan McGraw on October 21, 1986, 5 years later.
They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in 2021. Robin who is also a successful author appreciated Phil for being the most supportive and loving husband she could ever dream of. She admitted it was love at first sight and it continues to be every time she looks at him.
She revealed that the secret to their long-lasting relationship is the fact that they did not fight. Robin revealed that they had a conversation in the early stages of the relationship and agreed that they would not yell or scream at each other and after over 4 decades, he never raised his voice at her.
Dr. Phil announced that his daytime talk show which has run for over 2 decades on CBS was coming to an end. He made the decision to stop producing new episodes after the 2022/2023 season and move to primetime programming.
