Raphael Acloque was born and raised in France but he is of Algerian and Corsican descent. However, he has revealed he spent a lot of time growing up in Algeria due to the fact that his mother was doing business in both Algeria and France. During that time, he stayed with his grandmother in Algeria for a little while.
Before he was born, his parents moved to Algeria. They stayed together for a year and their interracial union was fairly accepted. It took their families time to accept their marriage.
He has a dual heritage: half-Arab, half-white. He learned about both cultures. For this reason, he has two different names; a Christian name and a Muslim which he uses based on where he was. His Muslim name is Fa’ad while his Christian names are Raphael Charles. Besides familiarizing himself with the two cultures, Raphael revealed he had to please both sides.

How He Began His Career as an Actor
Born into a family that loves entertainment, Raphael Acloque made his acting debut at the age of 11. His mother had always wanted to become an actress but it was not accepted at that time. Regardless of that, she encouraged him to start acting at that age because of his potential.
Before he started acting he was a swimmer. His parents enrolled him at a school that gives students more time to spend in the pool. After his movie, Raphael hated it and thought he would do better as a swimmer until he went to the university.
At the University, he wanted to study Anthropology but later settled for law. During his second year, an old friend encouraged him to reignite his love for acting.
He went on to attend drama school after which he went for several auditions and also theater works. Unfortunately, he did not get any role until he left for London in 2008.
Upon arriving in London, he started working as a waiter but it was quite challenging due to his inability to speak English. He decided to pause everything and focused on learning English.
After learning English, Acloque decided to enroll in the acting and drama school but he left at the end of his first year due to financial constraints even though he was on scholarship.
However, he got help from one of his teachers so he paid up what the school owed him and continued his studies. Even when he was still in school, he kept working as a nighttime waiter to support himself.
Also, he began to land small roles in movies such as Burnt (2015). A year after he graduated from drama school, he got an offer to be coached and mentored by fellow actor, Patterson Joseph.
The London-based actor’s linguistic skills have helped him play a diverse range of roles. He speaks French, English, Spanish, Italian, and Arabic fluently.
Acting is not the thing he’s good at. He is also a good writer as well. The actor once revealed he writes every day.

Is Raphael Acloque Married?
The Danish Girl star is not married. However, he revealed in an interview on Migreatives in 2021 that he was dating an actress but did not mention her name. He also added that she is Romanian but she has lived in England since the age of 18.
Acloque shared that he and his girlfriend had a similar experience when they moved to London. The pair occasionally spend time together in France.
