Kaitlen took to her Instagram to eulogize her mother as her best friend, a fighter, a nurturer, and her strength. When Miki was 15, she participated in a Teen Beauty Pageant where she sang one of the songs of the group Side Effect. Augie Johnson, a member of the group heard her sing and took interest in her, and introduced her to Wayne Henderson, who signed her to Home Productions.
Augie and Niki would go ahead to be involved in a romantic relationship that would produce two children. The duo would later separate and go their separate ways.
Miki, in an interview, said Augie held her till she was 25years old and showed her the ropes of the industry. She added that he was not righteous in terms of being a man but he was a fantastic mentor in terms of show biz and she holds no grudges against him for not marrying her.

Kaitlen Howard’s mother was born Alicia Michelle Howard on September 30, 1960. The older Howards started her career in 1980 and in the span of her 45-year old career, she has released 10 studio albums, and went on 5 different music tours.
She won the Best New Artist at the 1988 Soul Train Music Awards and was also awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Chicago Music Awards in 2012. Miki Howards was nominated for the American Music Awards in 1991 and the Grammy Awards in 2002.
Some of her songs topped the charts including Come Share My Love (1986), Baby Be Mine (1987), Ain’t Nuthin’ In The World (1989), Love Under New Management (1990), and Ain’t Nobody Like You (1992).

Eddie Phelps and Miki Howard got married in 1989. At the time, Miki had already started her career and was recording many successes.
Sadly, the success of her musical career was not replicating in her marriage which was characterized by domestic violence. In an interview, Miki Howard confessed that marrying her ex-husband was a very wrong move; they would have terrible fights and it got so bad he attempted to hang her at some point in their marriage.
This led to their divorce in 1996. Miki Howard said that the violent relationship traumatized her and her children. They are still trying to move past it after all these years. Kaitlen Howards is the only child of the couple.

Kaitlen Howard has two brothers Brothers Brandon, a music producer, and Private Chef, Nicholas Howard. Kaitlen’s mother had her two sons from her previous relationship with Augie Johnson who eventually did not get married to her.
The paternity of one of Kaitlen’s Brothers, Brandon Howard, became an issue of contention after it was claimed that he was not Augie Johnson’s child but the child of famous Popstar, Micheal Jackson.
Miki Howard has denied these allegations even after Brandon got a DNA test and it come back a 99.9% match. She said it was just some junk that would blow over. Augie Johnson also said that Brandon was his child and he has loved him all his life.
It was later discovered that the lab where the test was conducted was fake and Brandon was not fathered by the late Popstar.

Brandon Alexander Howard, popularly known as B. Howard is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was born in Los Angeles, California n the 2ndd of April 1981. He started his career in Finance before eventually delving into music full time.
Brandon is allegedly the son of the Pop star, Micheal Jackson. However other sources report he is the son of Joe Jackson the Patriarch of the Jackson Family. After conducting a DNA test, I proved that it was 99.9% possible that Brandon was the son of The King of Pop. His mother, Miki Howard however still denies having an affair with the late Popstar and claimed Brandon is the son of her former lover, Augie Johnson.
9. Kaitlen Howard’s Mother was a Drug Addict
Miki Howard battled with drug addiction for over 3 decades. She started using drugs in the seventies when drugs were common and everyone was doing it. She started it with her friend Chaka Khan who was probably the one who introduced her to it.
Miki stated that she thought she was partying but did not know she was self-medicating and that it would later destroy her. She added that she lost a lot of friends because of her addiction.
After 15 years of trying to quit drugs, she eventually overcame it in 2000 and has been clean ever since.

However, when asked why she didn’t become a music artist, Miki Howard responded by saying she has a special relationship with God and her songs can also serve as love songs to God.
