Barry Manilow was born on July 17th, 1943 in Brooklyn, Newyork City, United States. The American singer and songwriter’s birth name is Barry Alan Pincus. He was born to a Jewish father and an Irish-American mother. They were abandoned by his father when he was still young, causing him to adopt his Mother’s Maiden name, Manilow.
He attended Eastern District High School in Brooklyn and then moved to study advertising at the City College of the City University of New York. He also took classes at the New York College of Music and Juilliard School of Music.
