Skip Marley's Parents

Over the years, the Marley family legacy has been passed down across generations. With a lot of prominent children, Skip Marley’s parents are just another offshoot of the family.

The 28 years old rising contemporary reggae offspring was born to Cedella Marley and David Minto on June 4th, 1996 in  Kingston, Jamaica. His mother Cedella is the oldest among Bob Marley’s children with his wife Rita Marley.

Skip Marley is the iconic musician’s grandchild on his mother’s side. He started singing at a young age and was influenced by members of the Marley family. His first stage performance was at the age of fifteen after he followed his uncles on tour. He was persuaded by Steven Marley, his mother’s brother to perform Bob Marley’s popular song One Love on stage.

Ever since the prodigy has had major collaborations in his rise to the top.  Instead of releasing an album, he went down the path of releasing singles first. Some of his major collaborations are with artists like H.E.R, Katy Perry, Damien Marley, and many others.

Cedella Marley and David Minto got married in 1993. Though the Marleys are a well-known bunch, not much is known about Minto. Reportedly, Skip’s parents dated for some time before they decided to tie the knot.

For the number of years that the couple has spent together, they share three children, Soul, Skip, and Saiyan Marley. No news has been heard about Cedalla and Minto’s divorce. As such they are likely still together even after all these years.
