Meet 6ix9ine’s Father, Daniel Hernandez Sr.
As earlier stated, 6ix9ine’s father is Daniel Hernandez Sr. Although not much is known about the personal life of the celebrity dad, he is known to be from Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. It is also an open secret that he was once married to Natividad Perez-Hernandez, a former factory worker and house cleaner from Atlixo, Puebla, Mexico.
6ix9ine and Oscar Osiris Hernandez, who was born on August 25, 1994, are the fruits of Daniel and Natividad’s relationship. Unfortunately, the couple had a falling out and this led to their divorce sometime in the early 2000s.

Daniel Hernandez Sr.’s Ex-Wife Allegedly Kicked Him out for Using Drugs around the Kids
6ix9ine’s father was allegedly kicked out by his ex-wife once she realized he was using heroin around the children. More so, Daniel had a heroin addiction and was in prison for five years for pushing drugs.
According to available information, 6ix9ine did not know his father until he was 9 years old and had only a brief relationship with him. More so, the rapper’s-mother told him that his father was dead at a point in time.
6ix9ine’s Father Claims He Tried to Sustain Contact with His Family After they Split
After his divorce, Daniel Hernandez Sr. claimed he tried to stay in touch with his family even though they were no longer together. More so, at the time he was imprisoned on drug charges, he gave a note to one of his fellow prisoners who was being released, to assist in delivering to his wife and children. However, the released inmate went behind his back to begin a romantic relationship with his ex-wife. According to David, his wife subsequently married his supposed messenger.
Moving on, Hernandez Sr. also claimed that anytime he wrote letters to his ex-wife and kids, his wife’s new husband collected the letters and ensured his family does not get to see them. He added that this ruined his relationship with his family all the more.
Meanwhile, in 2010, Natividad’s new husband who was at the same time 6ix9ine’s step-father was shot dead just a short distance from their home on Locust Street in Bushwick. The unfortunate incident made 6ix9ine go down with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Furthermore, the rapper’s mother was unable to work enough to provide for her kids following the passing of her second husband. She had to apply for welfare and there were many nights 6ix9ine and his brother went to bed without dinner. Due to his mother’s financial struggle, the rapper and his brother wore used clothes and had to share a bed with their mother. The rapper also dropped out of school in the ninth grade but became an instant celebrity in 2017, thanks to his hyper-aggressive Nine Trey Bloods anthem, GUMMO.
Hernandez Sr. Located His Son After Many Years
After not seeing his son for about a decade, Hernandez Sr. was able to attend his 6ix9ine’s court hearing on December 18, 2019. For the first part of the hearing, the rapper was unaware that his father was present. However, Hernandez Sr. kept trying to grab his son’s attention while sitting next to his girlfriend in one of the courtroom’s back rows.
He also tried on several occasions to speak about his son in court but was repeatedly denied the opportunity. Nonetheless, 6ix9ine could not hold back his tears when he finally spotted his father. The father and son only saw each other but could not talk to each other at that moment following the rapper pleading guilty to nine charges, and a jail sentence of 2 years. 6ix9ine’s charges included a series of violent crimes and drug trafficking offenses. Others are attempted murder and armed robbery.
After the court proceedings, Hernandez Sr. was accused of simply wanting to be close to his estranged son for his money. However, he denied this claim, stating that he cares more about his relationship with his son than he does about money. According to him, he attempted to contact his son for many years but was unable to do so since he was unaware of his location and lacked his phone number. He further claimed that he even called 911 to ask for assistance in locating his son, but they were unable to help him out.
6ix9ine Has not Forgiven His Father for Abandoning Him Since Childhood
Shortly after 6ix9ine returned from prison, his father publicly revealed that he was homeless and in need of assistance. Although the rapper is known for several philanthropic works within and outside the united states of America, he declined to extend any assistance to his father who was practically living in a shelter because he was homeless. According to the rapper, he has not forgotten how his father abandoned him at birth. In 6ix9ine’s exact words,
Right now, he’s in a shelter smoking crack. The story of me not giving money to a crackhead who abandoned me at birth is getting more publicity than the positive things. Why? Because it’s a trend to hate me.
