1.   Babe

Babe is a 1995 English movie that won the hearts of viewers. It tells the story of Babe, a little pig who gets separated from his mother and taken to a rural farm by Farmer Hogget. Babe finds it hard to fit in and wherever he goes, he brings trouble along. However, the curious piglet eventually finds companionship with other animals on the farm.

Babe had the desire to become a herd sheep an oddity never seen or heard. Farmer Hogget gave him the chance to prove himself which he did with ease. Together with his master, the swine beat dogs in herding sheep and winning the sheep-herding championship.

2.   Wilbur (Charlotte’s Web)

Wilbur is a  character in the 1952 children’s book by E.B. White titled Charlotte’s Web. It was adapted into an animation in 1973 and a movie in 2006. The story tracks Wilbur a pig who discovers the fate that awaits him. He did not want to end up on a dinner plate. Rejected by other farm animals, he makes friends with a spider named Charlotte who promises to save his life. True to her words, she saved the pig’s life but lost hers after getting exhausted from laying her eggs. Wilbur took care of her eggs until they hatched and lived to witness his first Christmas and see his offspring.

3.   Gordy

Gordy is a piglet in the 1994 American family comedy-drama with the same title. His happy life on a farm is cut short when his family is sold off by the farmer because he has gone bankrupt. He begins a quest alone to find his parents and siblings and return them to the farm. While on his mission, he meets with a young country singer Jinnie Sue McAllister who gives him a new name Pinky. At an event, Gordy saves the grandson of a wealthy businessman from drowning. He gets celebrity status and survives attempts on his life. The movie ends with Gordy reuniting with his family all thanks to the powerful friends he made.

4.   Albert (College Road Trip)

In the American comedy-drama, College Road Trip (2008), Albert is a pig and pet who comes along on a family road trip. An overprotective father is unwilling to let his teenage daughter enroll at a university far from home. The pig annoys him and he can’t bear to see his son play with it. It accompanies them on their wild adventure touring different universities.

5.   Brandy

Nicolas Cage performed with a pig Brandiy a purebred Kunekune in the movie titled Pig (2021). In the story, a sow lives with the Oscar-award-winning actor in the woods and hunts for him. She gets stolen making the owner abandon everything to find her. Viewers regarded it as one of the best movies of that year. Brandy didn’t live long after her starling performance. She died of a jaw infection.

6.   Razorback

It is not common to see a film portraying a violent and vengeful pig. Inspired by a 1981 novel, an Australian filmmaker created Razorback in 1984 about a giant wild pig killing and eating people in Australia. The unstoppable killer boar was at last destroyed but without leaving behind a gut-wrenching trail of blood.

7.   Miss Piggy (The Muppet Show)

Miss Piggy may be a muppet character but she continues to inspire people with her fierce diva personality and confidence. She made her debut in 1976 and 20 years later, TV Guide ranked her number 23 on its 50 Greatest TV Stars of All Time list. Today, she is regarded as a feminist icon.

8.   Pumbaa (The Lion King)

“Hakuna Matata” rings a bell? Thanks to Pumbaa the light-hearted warthog, this phrase remains golden. He brought humor to the emotionally charged animation The Lions King. His friendship with Timon the meerkat, added further delight to the cartoon. Pumbaa is a character who doesn’t let worries consume him. He always found joy in the present.

9.   Tattoo (The Secret Life of Pets)

Tattoo plays a supporting character in The Secret Life of Pets (2016). He is covered with tattoos and belongs to a group of abandoned pets led by Snowball. Before he was abandoned, new tattoo artists used his body to practice. His story is a pathetic one as it shows the reality that pigs face in real life.

10.  Piglet (Winne the Pooh)

Piglet of Winnie the Pooh stands as one of the iconic cartoons in both the young and the old. He has a timid nature but his loyalty to his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood is unwavering. He overthinks and needs reassurance from his companion. His fear of Heffalumps and Woozles creates hilarious scenes for viewers.

11.  Pua (Moana)

Pua is the sidekick to Moana. He acts like a puppy despite being a pig. The movie producers received negative criticism from fans and critics for removing the loveable piglet from the majority of the scenes. Viewers wanted to see Pua and Moana go on an adventure together and brave all obstacles. The little time he spent on screen endeared him to the hearts of many.

12.  Peppa Pig

Peppa Pig is a loveable little pig, but she can get bossy. Together with her little brother George, they embark on journeys every day with their family and friends.

13.  Hamm (Toy Story)

When Andy plays with Hamm and the other toys, he calls his plastic piggy bank Evil Doctor Porkchop. But to the toys, Hamm is smart and ever ready to lend a helping hand to his friends. Of all Andy’s toys, he is the smartest.

14.  Hamton J. Pig (Tiny Toon Adventures)

Hamton J. Pig is an animated cartoon character in the television series Tiny Toon Adventures. He is good-natured, easily convinced, and overly optimistic. This makes him an easy target and is taken advantage of. He has a non-aggressive personality and is loyal to his friends.

15.  Porky Pig (Looney Tunes)

Known for his stuttering speech, Porky remains one of the iconic and enduring Looney Tunes animated characters. His popularity dwindled in the 1940s as funnier animations dominated the screens.

16.  Petunia Pig (Looney Tunes)

First introduced in 1937, Petunia was created to be Porky’s girlfriend. Just as Porky’s fame plummeted, she also went along with him.

17. Plopper (The Simpsons)

Plopper is Homer Simpson’s pet pig that he met in Krusty Burger. He is also called Spider-pig, Harry Plopper, and Pig. All attempts to make Homer discard the animal weren’t successful.

18.  Gunter (Sing)

One of the main characters of the movie Sing is Gunter who speaks English with a German accent. The male pig brings comic relief to the film. He is hyperactive and is not afraid to sing and dance.

19.  Rosita (Sing)

Rosita is a female pig in Sing who has twenty-five piglets. She loves music but doesn’t have the freedom to explore. When she comes across a flyer for a singing competition and decides to audition and earns a slot. Rosita pairs with Gunter to make a great performance.

20.  Leonard (Angry Birds)

In Angry Birds, Leonard also called King Mudbeard is the former ruler of Piggy Kingdom who is replaced by his son King Pig Smooth Cheeks. He hides under the cloak of his charm and charisma but is power-hungry, and has no regard for his subjects and allies.
