Sierra Deaton is an American singer who gained fame as a member of the duo indie pop group, Alex & Sierra. In 2013, the group won the third season of the X Factor US and since then, it has remained the only group to win the US version of the competition.

The singer was born on February 11, 1991, to a father who is British and a mother who is Vietnamese, She was brought up alongside a sister in Orlando. Initially, her father was a pilot but he later decided to become a college psychology professor. Her mother, Mau Vu Deaton came to the United States as a Vietnamese refugee. Today, she has built herself into becoming a banker and she practices Buddhism.

Although she has the talent for music, Sierra is an introvert. Together with her former boyfriend, Deaton auditioned for X-factor as Alex & Sierra. They were selected and were mentored by Simon Cowell. The two would go on to win the competition.
